Sacraments

Sacrament of Penance
Saturday from 4:00 to 4:30pm and by appointment.

Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism may be celebrated at any of the weekend Masses and also at 12:30pm on Sundays, provided that Baptism is not celebrated during the 11:00am Mass the same day. Before a baptism can be arranged, the parents must be registered members of the parish and practicing their faith, and they are required to attend an instruction session for the Sacrament. Please not finalize your plans until you have attended this information meeting. Anyone interested should contact Cathy Dow, Parish Secretary at 815-895-3275 ext. 2

Eucharist and Reconciliation Preparation
Parents/guardians of students involved in preparation for their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist will be participating in special activities, such as Sacramental Formation meetings. These special activities are designed to give both student and adult greater awareness and understanding of the Sacraments and our faith. Anyone interested in registering or receiving more information should contact Rosanne Dwyer, Coordinator of Religious Education at 815-895-3726 ext. 1

Confirmation
The Confirmation program is currently a one-year process for 9th grade students. Confirmation takes place annually. Students must be baptized Catholics, have made their First Eucharist, and be interested in learning more about their Catholic Christian tradition. Anyone interested in registering or receiving more information should contact Rosanne Dwyer, Coordinator of Religious Education at 815-895-3726 ext. 1

Sacrament of Matrimony
In order that the process of sacramental preparation for marriage may be scheduled and accomplished, marriage arrangements should being SIX MONTHS in advance of the desired date. It is the stated policy of the Diocese of Rockford that those to be married must be at least 19 years of age, and should attend the Pre-Cana Conferences as the usual means of preparation for this Sacrament.

Annointing of the Sick
Arrangements to be made by contacting the Rectory, 815-895-3275 ext. 3.

Communion Calls
We wish everyone to receive the Sacrament at least once a month. Those, who because of illness or older age, are unable to attend Mass for a month should receive the Sacraments in their own home. Ministers of Care are available for weekly calls. Please call the Parish Secretary at 815-895-3272 ext. 2 for more information.

Registration with the Parish
All adults (high school graduates and older) and new parishioners are requested to register through the parish office. Mere attendance at Sunday Mass does NOT automatically make one a member of the church.
